A Utility to Clear All Changes Made with a Given Special Tool in a Region
IWBNI there were a utility that could be used to clear all changes and
only those changes that have been made by using a given special tool in
a given region. As it is now, this is possible for the special tools listed
in the following table:
Special Tool | Utility to Clear All Changes |

Beam Extension | MassEdit>Clear Items>Entries>
Beam Extensions |
Tie | MassEdit>Change>Ties>Remove Manual Positioning |
For the special tools listed in the following table, a utility exists
that may be used to clear all changes made with each tool. However, these
utilities have side effects. For example, in order to use the Manual
Positioning option on the Music Spacing Options dialog box to
clear changes made with the note position tool, music must be respaced.
Or, if changes that have been made with the beam angle tool are cleared
by using the menu item MassEdit>Clear Items>Entries>
Stem and Beam Alterations, all changes made with the following
tools are also cleared: stem length tool, custom tool, broken beam tool,
secondary beam angle tool, and beam width tool.

Finally, for the special tools listed in the following table, there
is no utility that may be used to clear all changes made with the tool:
Special Tool | Utility to Clear All Changes |
Reverse Stem | No utility available. |
Stem Direction | No utility available. |
Double/Split Stem | No utility available. |
This could be implemented by adding a submenu item called Clear Special Tools to the MassEdit menu. This submenu could contain a menu item for each special tool. Each menu item would clear all changes made by a given tool in a selected region. Prior to clearing any changes, a message box would be displayed to allow the user to confirm that the changes should be cleared.
Alternatively, the interface that exists for some special tools that allows one to clear changes for a tool by selecting a handle and pressing the Delete or Backspace key could be implemented for all tools and extended by implementing the following two suggestions:
