. . . academically
speaking, I know very little.
Though I have worked all my life in sound, from an academic point of view
I do not even know what sound is (I once tried to read Rayleigh’s
Theory
of Sound but was unable mathematically to follow its simplest explanations).
My knowledge is activity. I discover it as I work, and I know it while
I am discovering it, but only in a very different way before and after.
