IWBNI it were possible to specify that the function Staff>Respace Staves should ignore hidden staves. This could be implemented by adding a checkbox Skip Hidden Staves to the Respace Staves dialog box.

As it is now, hidden staves are not ignored and as a result large gaps occur where there is a hidden staff. For example, if there are 4 staves with the second staff hidden and one uses Respace Staves, the gap between the first two visible staves (i.e. staves 1 and 3) will be too large.
