IWBNI there were an option on the rhythmic subdivisions plug-in that would let one preserve the duration of the original notes by using ties.

For example, if a sequence of 2 quarter notes is subdivided into eighths, one could specify (with such an option) that the result should be a sequence of two pairs of tied eighth notes (i.e. quarter quarter would be subdivided into eighth-tie-eighth followed by eighth-tie-eighth).
