Allow the Layout of a Selected Region to be Updated

IWBNI it were possible to update the layout of all measures, and only those measures, in a selected region. As it is now, if the menu item Edit>Update Layout is selected (or equivalently the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+U is pressed) while in page view, the layout will be updated for all measures from the first measure of the current page through the last measure of the document. (Note: When Edit>Update Layout is selected in scroll view, the layout of all measures in the document will be updated.)

This feature would be useful, for example when one would like to update the layout of all measures in a given system without altering the layout of any measures that follow the system.

This could be implemented by modifying the command Edit>Update Layout so that in the case when a region of measures has been selected, the command would only update the layout of the selected measures. In this case, the width of measures as displayed in page view, would not be changed for any measure that is not in the selected region. In the case when the selected region does not include all measures of a given system, the width of the measures that are not selected would remain unchanged and such measures would be treated as fixed-width objects that in effect, shorten the width of the system for the purpose of updating the layout of measures of the system that are in the selected region.
