An Option to Control Automatic Rebeaming when Copying Music

IWBNI there were an option that could be used to specify whether or not music should be rebeamed automatically when it is copied. As it is now, music is rebeamed (or not) automatically depending on the following factors:

  1. The function, feature or utility that is being used to copy music.
  2. The method used to select the region from which music is to be copied.
  3. The dimensions of the selected region from which music is to be copied.
  4. The dimensions of the target region into which music is to be copied.
For example, suppose the following measure of music has been selected to be copied to the next measure:

Under some conditions, the new music will be beamed to match the beaming of the original as shown in the following figure:

Copy is Not Rebeamed

In other cases, the new music will be rebeamed to match the time signature of the target measure as shown in the following figure:

This feature could be implemented by adding a submenu called Rebeam on Copy to the Edit menu that could contain the following menu items: Default, Always and Never. If the menu item Default is checked, copied music would be rebeamed or not rebeamed automatically as in the current version of Finale. If the menu item Always (Never) is checked, copied music would be automatically rebeamed under all (no) conditions.
