Settings for the Size of the Hotspot to Open the Speedy Entry Editing Frame
IWBNI it were possible to specify the size of the hotspot that may be clicked to open the speedy entry editing frame.
As it is now, to open the speedy entry editing frame for a given measure, one may click the plus-sign shaped cursor when the center of the cursor is within the dashed rectangle that is displayed about the measure when the hand grabber tool is temporarily selected by right clicking the mouse. For all staves, the top (bottom) edge of this rectangle is positioned at one half-space above (below) the top (bottom) line of the staff, with the exception of 0-line staves for which the rectangle is positioned as it would be for a 5-line staff.
As it is now, for a 1-line staff the height of the hotspot rectangle is 1 staff space. For such thin staves, some would prefer to have a taller rectangle in which to click to open the speedy entry editing frame.
This could be implemented, by adding a button called Hotspot Size to the Staff Attributes dialog box. This button would display a new dialog box called Speedy Entry Hotspot Size that could contain the following controls:
---------------------------------------------
Speedy Entry Hotspot Size Dialog Box
Speedy Entry Hotspot Height:
Top of Hotspot Relative to Top Staff Line (spaces):
_____
Bottom of Hotspot Relative to Bottom Staff Line
(spaces): _____
---------------------------------------------
Note: This option has been associated with staves rather than with the speedy entry tool because tablature "staves" are actually composed of several closely spaced 1-line staves, and for such staves one would want to be required to click very close to a given 1-line staff to open the speedy entry editing frame for the staff.
