Display Most Recently Used Nudge Amounts in Guide Line Context Menus
IWBNI a specified number of the most recently used amounts by which guide lines have been nudged were listed in the context menu for a guide line. As it is now, to nudge a given guide line by a given amount one may right click the triangular guide line handle that is located in the ruler, select the menu item Reposition Guide, select the radio button Nudge Guide and enter the number of units by which the guide is to be nudged.
This feature would be useful for situations where a guide line is to be placed a given distance from a given type of object in order to adjust the distance between two neighboring objects, and this operation must be performed repeatedly for several pairs of objects using a small number of possible distances which depend on the properties of the objects being adjusted. For example, one might use this approach to make the distance between dynamic markings and hairpins be uniform throughout a score.
This could be implemented by adding a text box called Number of Recent Nudge Amounts in Context Menu to the Guide Line Settings section of the Grid/Guide Options dialog box. This control would be similar to the text box Number of Recent Files in File Menu on the Other Program Options dialog box. For example, if Number of Recent Nudge Amounts in Context Menu is set to 6, the context menu for a given guide line might include the following items:
