An Option to have Colored and Textured Backgrounds
IWBNI there were an option to specify that the background of document windows on which scores are displayed should be colored and textured. As it is now, the background color of document windows is determined by preferences set at the operating system level.
This could be implemented by adding the following controls to the Select Display Colors dialog box:
--------------------------------------
Select Display Colors Dialog Box
Backgrounds:
Scroll View: |list box of colors and textures|
Page View:
Within Pages: |list box of colors and textures|
Outside of Pages: |list box of colors and textures|
--------------------------------------
The background list boxes would include an item called System Colors that could be selected to have the background color depend on preferences that have been specified at the operating system level, as in the current version of Finale. The list box Within Pages (Outside of Pages) would be used to specify the background to be used within (outside of) page boundaries in page view.
For an example of a music notation program that has this feature, see Sibelius.
