For the MIDI split screen, IWBNI MIDI note durations that extend from the previous measure into the first displayed measure could be displayed. A note that is "ringing" from a previous measure that is not currently displayed, could be indicated with a horizontal duration line that extends a bit further to the left to show that it is an extension of a note in an earlier measure.

As it is now, the MIDI split screen shows the durations of notes that start in the measures that are being displayed. It does not display the durations of notes that are ringing from previous measures.
