Add an Elision Character to Some Font that is Distributed with Finale
IWBNI there were an elision character in some font that is distributed with Finale. This character is used to join two words or syllables of a lyric that are to be sung on one note.
As it is now, this character may be obtained from a third party font. For example, the following fonts may be used:
TempiFont by The
Really Loud Font Company
(Mac: Shift-Option-5, Windows: Alt+0222)
Toccata Font
by Blake Hodgetts
(Character Number: 98)
FinalLyrics Font
by Ansgar Krause
(Character Number: 167)
Note: The letter characters used for the words "To" and "all" in the examples for the TempiFont and FinalLyrics font are those which are available in these fonts. For the Toccata example, the font Times New Roman regular 10 point (Windows 98) was used, and the elision character is regular 9 point.
Note: Character number 98 of the Toccata font may be used as an elision character or as a laissez-vibrer tie to be attached to a notehead as an articulation.
