User-Definable Chord Styles

IWBNI it were possible to define a chord style. As it is now, the following predefined chord styles may be selected by using the submenu Chord>Chord Style that is associated with the chord tool: Standard, European, German, Roman, Nashville A, Nashville B, and Solfeggio.

This could be implemented by adding a menu item called Custom Chord Style to the Chord>Chord Style submenu. This menu item would display a new dialog box called Custom Chord Style that could contain the following controls:

--------------------------------------------
Custom Chord Style Dialog Box

Chord Root Name
Cb
C
C#
Db
D
D#
Eb
E
E#
Fb
F
F#
Gb
G
G#
Ab
A
A#
Bb
B
B#

Naming System:
( ) Fixed-Doh
( ) Movable-Doh
--------------------------------------------

One custom chord style could be defined and selected. The table would be used to specify the names to be used for each chord root. The Naming System option would be used to specify whether names are to be associated with pitches (Fixed-Doh) or scale degrees (Movable-Doh). If the option Movable-Doh is selected, the names specified in the table are those which would be used in the key of C Major. Note: A fixed-doh system is used for the predefined chord styles Standard, European and German. A movable-doh system is used for the chord styles Roman, Nashville A, Nashville B and Solfeggio.
