An Option to have Handle Size Depend on Display Resolution
IWBNI there were an option to specify that the size of handles should depend on the current display resolution. As it is now, the default handle size is 8 by 8 pixels. The size of handles may be changed by adding entries HandleSizeX and HandleSizeY to the Settings section of the file Finale.ini. The size of handles is constant throughout a given Finale session and is independent of the current display resolution.
This feature would be useful for those who change the display resolution within a Finale session and would prefer to have larger handles at high resolutions.
This could be implemented by adding a button called Handle Size to the Other Program Options dialog box. This button would display a new dialog box called Handle Size that could contain the following controls:
---------------------------------------------
Handle Size Dialog Box
( ) Fixed Size: H: _____ pixels V: _____ pixels
( ) Handle Size Depends on Display Resolution
Display Resolution | Handle Size | ||
Horizontal (Pixels) | Vertical (Pixels) | Horizontal (Pixels) | Vertical (Pixels) |
640 | 480 | 8 | 8 |
800 | 600 | 11 | 11 |
1024 | 768 | 13 | 13 |
---------------------------------------------
If the radio button Fixed Size is selected, the size of handles would be independent of display resolution as in the current version of Finale.
If the radio button Handle Size Depends on Display Resolution is selected the handle size would vary with display resolution according to the entries in the associated table. All entries in a row of this table (i.e. the Display Resolution and the corresponding Handle Size) could be specified by the user.
