A Setting for the Default Horizontal Position of the Left Barline in Scroll View

IWBNI there were a setting that could be used to specify the default horizontal position of the left barline of the leftmost measure in scroll view. Note: The leftmost barline is placed at the default horizontal position whenever scroll view is selected after page view has been selected.

As it is now, by default, the leftmost barline in scroll view is placed 50 pixels to the right of the left edge of the document window. In the case when the document window is maximized and palettes are docked at the left edge of the Finale window, the left barline is placed 50 pixels to the right of the right edge of the rightmost docked palette.

In some cases, one might prefer a much smaller indentation such as 11 pixels to maximize the horizontal space used to display measures. In other cases, one might prefer to have the default distance be such that the full extent of all staff names is displayed.

This could be implemented by adding the following controls to the Other Program Options dialog box:

--------------------------------------------------
Other Program Options Dialog Box

Scroll View Left Barline
Default Horizontal Position:
( ) Fixed: ____ pixels
( ) Show Staff Names
--------------------------------------------------

If the Fixed radio button is selected, the default horizontal position of the leftmost barline in scroll view would be determined by the specified number of pixels. For example, with a setting of 50 pixels, the leftmost barline would be positioned as in the current version of Finale.

If the Show Staff Names radio button is selected, the leftmost barline would be positioned far enough to the right to provide just enough horizontal space to display the staff name of any staff in the score.
