An Option to Create One Cue Name Expression with Add Cue Notes Plug-in
IWBNI there were an option to specify that only one cue name expression should be created by the add cue notes plug-in. As it is now, an expression is created for the specified cue name for each staff to which cue notes are added. For example, if cue notes are added to five staves, there will be five identical cue name expressions listed in the Expression Selection dialog box after using the add cue notes plug-in.
This could be implemented by adding a checkbox called Duplicate Cue Name Expressions below the Name the cue text box on the Add Cue Notes dialog box. If this option is selected, an expression would be created for the cue name for each staff to which cue notes are added, as in the current version of Finale. Otherwise, one expression would be created (i.e. one expression would be listed in the Expression Selection dialog box) and this expression would be attached to the first cue note in each staff to which cue notes have been added.
