Use Staff and System Resize Percentages of Last System in Appended Systems

IWBNI, when new systems are automatically created and appended at the end of a score after a given system (call it system number N), the resize of percentage of system N and the resize percentage of each staff in system N were automatically applied to all appended systems and all staves contained therein, and in the case when a given staff M has been removed from system N by optimization, the resize percentage of staff M in the last system before system N in which staff M has not been removed by optimization, were applied to staff M throughout the appended systems.

As it is now, when new systems are automatically created and appended at the end of a score, the resize percentage of such systems and the resize percentage of all staves in such systems is set to 100%. For example, this behavior occurs when new systems are appended as a result of selecting the menu item Edit>Update Layout or Measure>Add, or when the down arrow key is used with the mass mover tool to push measures down to the next system.

In such cases, one may manually propagate the resize percentages of the last system through the newly appended systems by using the resize tool.

The following steps may be used to demonstrate the current functionality:

1. Select File>New>Empty Document.

2. Create a second staff (Select View>Scroll View. Select the staff tool. Double-click below the existing staff to create a second staff).

3. Select page view.

4. Use the resize tool to set the resize percentage of staff 1 to 50% and the resize percentage of system 1 to 75%. Note: The resize percentage of staff 2 is 100%.

5. Double click the measure-tool button to append a measure to the score. This causes a second system to be created and appended to the score.

6. Use the resize tool to verify that the resize percentage of the newly created system and the resize percentage of staff 1 in that system are both 100%. This suggestion proposes that the resize percentage of the newly created system be automatically set to 75% to match that of the previous system and the resize percentage of staves 1 and 2 be automatically set to 50% and 100%, respectively, to match corresponding settings in the previous system.

Note: The add-measure function has been used here to simplify the demonstration. Similar behavior may be observed when systems are created automatically as a result of using the Update Layout function or the down arrow key (with the mass mover tool) to push measures down to the next system.
