Use Grace Note Spacing Setting when Respacing Music

IWBNI the setting Grace Note Spacing on the Music Options dialog box were used when music is respaced by selecting Apply Beat Spacing, Apply Note Spacing, or Apply Time Signature Spacing from the MassEdit>Music Spacing submenu. As it is now, this setting is ignored when music is respaced.

Specifically, as it is now, the setting Grace Note Spacing on the Music Options dialog box specifies the number of measurement units (e.g. EVPUs) between the leading edge of any grace note and the leading edge of the note that follows a grace note, regardless of the size of grace notes as specified by the setting Grace Note Size on the Notation Options dialog box. This setting is used when a grace note is created, for example by using the key ';' with the speedy entry tool.

Also, when music is respaced by selecting Apply Beat Spacing, Apply Note Spacing, or Apply Time Signature Spacing from the MassEdit>Music Spacing submenu, the setting Grace Note Spacing is ignored and the spacing of grace notes is controlled by the setting Minimum Distance Between Items on the Music Spacing Options dialog box. The width of a grace note is calculated from the leading edge of the note to the trailing edge of the note and includes the full width of any flag font characters and the slash if present. A given sequence of grace notes are placed within the space allocated to the normal note that precedes the sequence. The distance specified by Minimum Distance Between Items is placed between each grace note in the sequence and between the last note of the sequence and the normal note that follows the sequence. In the case when the normal note that precedes the sequence is very short in duration or there are many grace notes in the sequence, the space allocated to the note that precedes the sequence is increased to ensure that the distance between the preceding normal note and the first grace note of the sequence is at least Minimum Distance Between Items.

This feature could be implemented by modifying the method by which grace notes are spaced when music is respaced, so that the setting Grace Note Spacing on the Music Options dialog box would specify the number of measurement units (e.g. EVPUs) between the leading edge of a grace note and the leading edge of the note that follows a grace note. The setting Grace Note Spacing would be used in place of the sum of the grace-note width and Minimum Distance Between Items which is currently used to control the distance between leading edges.
