An Option to Not Deselect Objects on Redraw Screen

IWBNI there were an option to specify that all objects that are selected prior to redrawing the screen (by selecting the menu item Redraw Screen from the View menu, or by pressing Ctrl+D) should remain selected after the redraw operation has been completed. As it is now, most types of handles remain selected. However, expression handles, measure handles, and smart shapes are deselected when the redraw operation is invoked. In the case of smart shapes, the bounding rectangle is removed.

This feature would simplify for example, the task of nudging a given expression with the arrow keys or adjusting a given smart shape in the case when such objects overlap other objects.

This could be implemented by adding a checkbox option called Preserve Selections to the Redraw Options dialog box. With this option selected, objects that are selected prior to redrawing the screen would remain selected after the redraw operation has been completed.
