Using Cautionary Accidentals Plug-in with Chromatically Transposed Staves
IWBNI it were possible to use the cautionary accidentals plug-in with chromatically transposed staves. As it is now, this plug-in may not be used with such staves.
For example:
1. Select File>New>Default Document.
2. Use the simple entry tool to enter the following notes in bars 1 through 3:
Bar 1: A whole note at middle C#.3. At this point, there should be a sharp on the first and third notes and no accidentals on the second and fourth notes.
Bar 2: A whole note at middle C.
Bar 3: Two half notes at middle C#.
4. Select the mass mover tool. Press Ctrl+A to select all measures.
5. Select Plug-ins>Cautionary Accidentals. Select the following options: Courtesy Accidental, Courtesy Natural, Key Cancellations, Accidentals on Tied Notes Never, Layer 1, Layer 2, and Reset After 2 Measures. Press OK to apply the plug-in.
6. At this point, there is a courtesy natural on the second note and a courtesy sharp on the fourth note.
7. Select Edit>Undo Plug-in Edit.
8. Use the staff tool to set the Transposition option on the Staff Attributes dialog box to Chromatic, Up Octave. All notes are now displayed one octave higher.
9. Repeat steps 4 and 5.
10. At this point, there is no courtesy natural on the second note and no courtesy sharp on the fourth note. Therefore, the cautionary accidentals plug-in may not be used with chromatically transposed staves.
