IWBNI there were placement settings on the Smart Shape Placement dialog box to specify the placement of slurs in the following cases:

Case 1:

A slur that is above the staff that begins at a down-stemmed note and ends at an up-stemmed note.

Case 2:

A slur that is above the staff that begins at an up-stemmed note and ends at a down-stemmed note.

As it is now, the placement of slurs of this type is governed by a combination of existing placement settings. This feature would allow one to specify placements specifically for these cases that would be independent of existing placement settings.
