Deselecting Selected Handles with Shift-Drag-Enclose
IWBNI in all situations where it is possible to select multiple handles, the user action shift-drag-enclose would cause all selected handles that are enclosed to become deselected. As it is now, shift-drag-enclose may be used to add handles to the set of selected handles. This action may not be used to deselect handles.
This could be implemented by allowing the user action shift-drag-enclose to toggle the selected state of all enclosed handles. A handle that has been selected prior to being shift-drag-enclosed would become deselected after this action. A handle that has not been selected prior to being shift-drag-enclosed would become selected after this action.
The tools for which this functionality could be provided include: all special tools, the expression tool and the articulation tool.
For an example of a program that has this functionality, see Fontographer by Macromedia.
