IWBNI it were possible to specify offsets for expression handles. As it is now, the handle of a given text expression is placed at the origin of the first character in the expression which in most cases is the bottom left corner of the character. The handle of a given shape expression is placed at the origin of the shape expression (i.e. at the point with coordinates (0,0) in the Shape Designer).

This could be implemented by adding the following controls to the Text Expression Designer and Shape Expression Designer dialog boxes:

These offset controls would affect the position of expression handles in the same way that the controls on the Handle Positioning dialog box affect the position of articulation handles.
