IWBNI Finale supported the notion of a "comment". A comment might consist of proofreading signs or "To Do" items such as a text expression that is attached to a given note that contains the text: "Fix the Position of this Slur". Or, comments might include information regarding the underlying compositional strategy that has been used.
This could be accomplished by adding the following options:
1. Add a checkbox option called Comment to objects such as text blocks, expressions and articulations (or any other type of object that currently has the option Display On Screen Only (Do Not Print)). This option would be used to indicate that a particular text block, expression or articulation is a comment.
2. Add a menu item View>Show Comments. When this item is checked, all objects that have been marked as being a comment would be displayed. Otherwise, all comments would be hidden.
3. On the Print dialog box, add a checkbox called Comments. When this item is checked, all objects that have been marked as being a comment would be printed. Otherwise, all comments would be hidden.
