Option to Set the Height of the Speedy Entry Editing Frame

IWBNI it were possible to set the height of the speedy entry editing frame. With this feature, one could increase the height of the speedy entry editing frame when entering music that spans a wide range of pitches.

As it is now, the height of the speedy entry editing frame as measured in staff spaces, is a function of the view percentage. For a view percentage of 50%, the frame displays 10 staff spaces. For the view percentages 75%, 100% and 125%, the frame displays 11, 12, and 13 staff spaces, respectively. More generally, for a view percentage V, the frame displays 8+(V/25) staff spaces.

This feature could be implemented by adding the following controls to the Other Program Options dialog box:

---------------------------------------------------
Other Program Options Dialog Box

Speedy Entry Editing Frame:

Height:

( ) Variable: Number of Spaces = K + (view_percentage/S)
    K: _____ (default value: 8)
    S: _____ (default value: 25)

( ) Fixed: ____ spaces (default value: 12)
---------------------------------------------------

The Variable option is provided to preserve existing functionality which could be obtained by setting K to 8 and S to 25. The option Fixed would be used to specify that the editing frame should display a given number of staff spaces, independent of the view percentage. The default value of 12 spaces would cause the height of the editing frame to be as it in the current version of Finale when the view percentage is set to 100%.
