Provide Complete Documentation of the ETF File Format
IWBNI complete documentation of the ETF (Enigma Transportable File)
file format were available. As it is now, the ETF file format is documented
in the file ETFSPEC.PDF that is included with the Finale 2000 Plug-in Development
Kit. However, this documentation is incomplete. For example, of the tags
that are present in the Finale 2000 default file, the following items are
not documented:

With complete documentation, it would be easier to create the following
utilities:

A utility to convert files from Finale format to the format used by the
SCORE music notation program, and vice versa. As it is now, there is a
utility called FinalScor by San Andreas Press that can be used to convert
postscript output files from Finale into SCORE files.

A utility to convert files from Finale format to the NIFF format, and vice
versa.

A utility that processes Finale scores by operating directly on ETF files
to automate various editing tasks.
