Flat Beams when Extreme Note is in a Chord that Spans the Beam Group
IWBNI, when Flatten Beams Based On Extreme Note is selected on the Beaming Options dialog box, it were possible to specify that a given beam should be flattened if the extreme note occurs at the beginning or end of the beam group and is part of a chord that spans all notes in the group. That is, all notes in the beam group fall within the interval formed by the highest and lowest notes of the chord.
As it is now, when Flatten Beams Based On Extreme Note is selected,
the fact that a given extreme note is part of a spanning chord has no bearing
on whether or not the beam is flattened. For example, the beams for the
following beam groups would be sloped:
With the feature proposed here, the beams could be flattened automatically
to yield the following result:
This could be implemented by adding a checkbox called Flatten Beams on Spanning Chords to the Beaming Options dialog box in the case when Flatten Beams Based On Extreme Note is selected.
