IWBNI there were a keyboard shortcut of the form Ctrl/Cmd+letter for the menu item Instrument List on the Window menu that could be used to open and close the Instrument List window regardless of which window is active.

As it is now, on the Windows platform, the Instrument List window may be opened or closed by clicking on the title bar of the Finale window and pressing Alt+W followed by I.

For an example of a program that has this feature, see the Color Box in Microsoft Paint in Windows 98 which may be opened or closed by pressing Ctrl+L.
