Full-Screen View Mode
IWBNI there were a full-screen view mode in Finale. This feature could
have the following properties:
-
When the full-screen view mode is selected, the Finale window would become
maximized, the title bar and menu bar of the Finale window would be hidden
and the window would be expanded vertically to occupy the space that is
usually occupied by the title bar and menu bar.
-
In full-screen mode, the Finale menu could be accessed by pressing Alt
followed the underlined letter of the menu item that is to be selected
(e.g. E for Edit). Also, the Finale menu could be displayed by moving
the mouse near the top of the screen. It would not be necessary to move
the mouse all the way to the top of the screen so that one could avoid
triggering the display of a Windows taskbar that might be placed at the
top of the screen. The Finale menu that is displayed in full-screen mode
could be vertically thinner than normal.
-
There could be a menu item called Full Screen on the View
menu with an associated keyboard shortcut (e.g. Ctrl+Shift+A) and a Full
Screen button on the Main Toolbar. This menu item and button
could be used to change to or from full-screen mode.
For examples of programs that have this feature, see Sibelius, Microsoft
Excel 97 and Microsoft Word 97.
