A Special Mouse Click to Add a Beat Chart Element for a Note

IWBNI there were a special mouse click to add a beat chart element for a given note.

This could be implemented by allowing one to click the note for which a beat chart element is to be added while the beat chart is being displayed.

Alternatively, this could be implemented by allowing one to press Ctrl and double-click between two upper handles of the beat chart and above the note for which a beat chart element is to be added.

As it is now, a beat chart element may be added for any note of a given bar. For example, suppose the time signature of the bar is 4/4 and the bar begins with a septuplet of 7 1/16th notes in the time of 4 1/16th notes and a beat chart element is to be added for the third 1/16th note of this septuplet. Assuming the bar already has a beat chart with one beat chart element for each of the 4 quarter-note beats, one can:

1. Select the measure tool.

2. Double click the bottom handle of the measure to display the beat chart.

3. Double click between the top handles of the first 2 beat chart elements to create a new beat chart element for the second 1/8th note of the first beat.

4. Double click the top handle of the beat chart element that was created in step 3 to display the Beat Chart dialog box.

5. Change the Elapsed Duration from 512 to 293. 293 equals ((3-1)/7)*1024 rounded to the nearest integer. Now the new beat chart element is associated with the third 1/16th note of the septuplet.
