IWBNI it were possible to specify the origin from which a given pair of horizontal and vertical coordinates are measured in the Smart Shape Placement dialog box. As it is now, the origin may not be changed.

For example, in the Tab Slide placement for Different V, Lines, Pitch Increasing, the Start Point is positioned relative to the rightmost point on the notehead at its vertical center. One might wish to have the Start Point positioned relative to the tip of the stem.

This could be implemented by adding a list box called Origin below the V coordinate of each Start Point and End Point. This list box could contain the following items:

• Notehead Left Center
• Notehead Right Center
• Notehead Center Top
• Notehead Center Bottom
• Notehead Left Top
• Notehead Right Top
• Notehead Left Bottom
• Notehead Right Bottom
• Stem Tip
