Selecting an Object with a Click

IWBNI it were possible to select a given object by clicking on the object (in addition to the current methods of selection).

For example, if the current tool is Expression and one clicks on a given articulation, automatically, the current tool could be changed to Articulation and the articulation that has been clicked could be selected. As it is now, one must manually change the current tool to Articulation, determine the note to which the articulation is attached, click the note and click on the handle of the articulation.

The same could be said of expressions and smart shapes. Clicking any of these objects could select the appropriate tool and select the expression or smart shape in one step.

Going further, the same could be said of staves, barlines, time signatures, key signatures, clefs, graphics, etc.
