An Option to Not Delete Markings When Retranscribing Music
IWBNI it were possible to specify that markings should not be deleted when music is retranscribed by using the menu item Retranscribe on the MassEdit menu. As it is now, all articulations, expressions, smart shapes, lyrics and chords that are attached to notes in a region that is retranscribed are deleted.
This feature would allow one to use the retranscription function to simplify note values in a selected region by creating or deleting ties. For example, such an operation is required after music as been displaced by a fraction of a beat.
This could be implemented by replacing the existing menu item Retranscribe on the MassEdit menu with a submenu called Retranscribe containing the menu items Retranscribe Music and Retranscribe Options as in the Rebar submenu on the MassEdit menu. The Retranscribe Options menu item would display a new dialog box called Retranscribe Options that could have the following controls:
---------------------------
Retranscribe Options
Preserve:
[ ] Articulations
[ ] Expressions
[ ] Smart Shapes
[ ] Lyrics
[ ] Chords
---------------------------
Alternatively, these options could be added to the More Quantization Settings dialog box.
