Chromatically Transposing Music in Nonstandard Keys
IWBNI the Transposition dialog box could be used to chromatically transpose music that is contained in bars that have a nonstandard key signature.
As it is now, one can select Chromatically on the Transposition dialog box and select Other from the Interval list box to display the Interval dialog box. On this dialog box, one may enter an Interval (i.e. a diatonic scale degree) and an Alteration (i.e. a number of chromatic steps) for the desired transposition. However, the diatonic and chromatic steps that have been defined for a nonstandard key signature by using the Key Step Map dialog box are not used when Chromatically is selected on the Transposition dialog box.
For example, in a C-centered quarter-tone scale, when one chromatically transposes a C up by an Interval of 2 and an Alteration of 0, the resulting note is D-flat instead of the desired D. Using an Interval of 2 and an Alteration of -1 results in D-three-quarter-flat instead of the desired D-quarter-flat.
This could be implemented by using the diatonic and chromatic steps that are defined on the Key Step Map dialog box when Chromatically is selected on the Transposition dialog box.
