Playback Controls As a Tool Bar
IWBNI there were a tool bar for the playback control buttons Stop,
Play,
Record, etc. As it is now, these controls are available on the Playback
Controls window. However, this window often obscures one's view of
the score.
The playback controls tool bar could have the same features as the existing
tool palettes. Specifically, the tool bar could be resized, docked and customized
to include any combination of the following buttons:
-
Rewind to Beginning
-
Rewind
-
Stop
-
Play
-
Record
-
Fast Forward
-
Fast Forward to End
-
Scrolling Play Mode. This could be a two-state button that would operate
like the Italics button found in word processing programs (e.g.
Microsoft Word 97). When this button is depressed the play mode would be
scrolling. Otherwise, the play mode would be non-scrolling. A checkbox
option called Pre-Scan Music for Non-Scrolling could be added to
the Playback Options dialog box to specify whether or not music
should be pre-scanned when non-scrolling playback is selected by using
the Scrolling Play Mode button.
-
A button to display the Playback Controls window.
