Measure Numbers Positioned Relative to Clefs

IWBNI it were possible to have measure numbers be positioned relative to the clef. As it is now, measure numbers are positioned relative to the top staff line.

In some cases, the clef changes within a given part or solo piece. For example, within a cello part the clef seen at the beginning of systems might change from tenor, to bass, to treble throughout the piece. Many prefer to have measure numbers float up and down and be positioned relative to the clef.

This could be implemented in the following ways:

Implementation Option A

The following items could be added to the Clef Designer dialog box:

Measure Number Offset: H:___ V:___

These offsets would be added to the measure number positions defined in the Position Measure Number dialog box.

Implementation Option B

Alternatively, and for much more flexibility, the Position Measure Number dialog box could be modified in the following way:

Add a button on the Position Measure Number dialog box called Clef Offsets. This would display a Measure Number Clef Offsets dialog box that would allow one to enter H:___ and V:___ for each of the 8 clefs. As with "Implementation Option A", these offsets would be added to the measure number position defined in the Position Measure Number dialog box.

Since measure numbers might sometimes appear above the staff line and clef or below the staff line and clef, the flexibility provided by "Implementation Option B" may be necessary.
