IWBNI a new checkbox called Dead Staff were added to the Staff Attributes dialog box. A dead staff would be invisible and hidden from all Finale functionality and at a minimum, dead staves would have the following properties:

1. It would note be possible to attach expressions, smart shapes, articulations, etc. to a dead staff.

2. Dead staves would not play back. It has been suggested that hidden staves not play back. Alternatively, dead staves rather than hidden staves could have this feature.

3. Dead staves would be skipped when using Staff>Respace Staves. It has been suggested that hidden staves be skipped when using Staff>Respace Staves. Alternatively, dead staves rather than hidden staves could have this feature.

As it is now, hidden staves may be used in place of dead staves. However, since hidden staves are not hidden from all Finale functionality, they have none of the properties listed above.
