IWBNI there were a feature that permitted one to fill a selected region with rests of a given length. For example, one might wish to fill all of a selected region with 1/8th-note rests. In this case, existing rests would be converted/subdivided into 1/8th rests and existing notes would be left untouched. Empty areas of the region would be filled with 1/8th rests.
