If our John Paul were to say to a woman seeking his help "It is not good to take the bread of the children, and to cast it to the dogs" as Jesus does in Matthew 15.26 it might be taken as insensitive. If our John Paul were to say to a woman "Give me to drink" as Jesus does in John 4.7 it might be taken as impolite. If our John Paul were to say to a woman "Martha, Martha" as Jesus does in Luke 10.41 it might be taken as condescending. If our John Paul were to refer to his mother as "Woman" as Jesus does in John 2.4 it might be taken as disrespectful. If our John Paul were to use a scourge to drive people and animals as Jesus does to the money changers and animals in John 2.14‑15 it might be taken as an act of violence. If our John Paul were to be silent in response to a judge who seeks his council for adjudicating his case as Jesus does to Pontius Pilate in Matthew 27.14 it might be taken as an act of contempt of court. We're inspiring men to be gentlemen. |
