IWBNI it were possible to have minor changes that are made to an extracted part file be propagated back to the original score file from which the part has been extracted.

This could be implemented by storing, within a given extracted part file, the name of the score file from which the extracted part has been derived. A menu item called Update Score File could be added to the File menu. This item which would be enabled for an extracted part file, would cause changes made in the part file to be propagated back to the score file.
